In the fourth and final part of this guide, we will go over the sizes, and measurements for both Low and High Density Trash Bags.
The first question that needs to be accessed when deciding on the size of your bag, is what size does your situation require?
Depending on the size of your receptacle, it should be a pretty easy question to answer. Most trash cans are segmented by gallon sizes, allowing for relatively easy pairing. However if you are unaware of the size of your container, or have a specialty item, there are ways to figure out what size bag accurately fits your needs.
Measuring the width of the can is typically the easiest way to figure out the bag for you. This will allow you to have a number to go off of when searching for a bag.
As it pertains to the length of the bag for both round and square containers, having a longer bag is typically the way to go. There is rarely a problem with have a bag that is longer. A shorter bag however, can often lead to the bags falling inside the can. When in doubt of the length of your container, it is our recommendation that you should always go longer than what you think your size is. This allows for easier overhang, which allows for easier removal.
The second aspect to figuring out the correct bag for your needs is to find out the maximum weight of your receptacle. To find out the overall strength that would be needed, try to determine your typical disposal needs. An estimated guess, or trial by error, may be needed if there is little information on what your container can hold. However, purchasing a bag with a maximum load capacity is always a sure-fire way of ensuring bag strength. In these cases a Low Density bag would be the ideal choice, due to its elasticity.
